The user can manually press the Join ongoing call button in the conversation window, but the conversation will automatically close within seconds without hearing any audio from the other participants. The most common symptom of this issue is when the call invitation shows up on the mobile version of Skype but nothing shows up on PC. Unfortunately, this also created problems on older PCs that don’t have SSE2 (Streaming SIMD Extensions 2) support.
This can happen because the latest versions of Skype include some changes that we’re supposed to improve video calls and group video calls. Should the issue persists, reinstall the app to fix any file corruption issues that might be breaking certain app features. If you can’t see all the participants in a Skype group call, enable the Large grid option. Restart your computer and download the Skype desktop app again. Then click on Skype and hit the Uninstall button.
Launch the Control Panel, go to Programs and select Uninstall a program. To do that, you’ll need to first uninstall Skype and then reinstall it. The same is valid if the app won’t display all the participants.
